We all see those images and videos of unwanted clothing, piled up in various locations you would never want to go. So how can you make a difference?
Small choices, big impact
Making more conscious fashion decisions doesn’t mean changing everything overnight. We would prefer you not to waste what you already have, simply start with a small step.
- Choose higher-quality pieces – and no, this does not mean they need to cost more. A lot of smaller brands have lower overheads and can bring clothing to market at a more reasonable price.Invest in timeless designs.
- Don’t be swayed by the trends (or only be swayed occasionally!) Choose simple, timeless pieces that you can mix-and-match with all items in your wardrobe.
- Support brands that are transparent about their values. If a brand is using certified natural materials, they will provide the information about that. If you are unsure, contact them. Become an eco-conscious shopper!
- Choose natural materials that don’t cost the earth – organic cotton and linen are two of our favourites. Polyester is 100% man-made. It isn’t great for you or the environment. As much as possible, choose ethically sourced natural materials.
